The first day of the 2nd Quarter Continuing Local Legislative Education Program (CLLEP) 2026 successfully brought together councilors and local legislators from different provinces and cities across the Philippines at the Iloilo Convention Center for a full day of learning, collaboration, and professional development.
Throughout the day, delegates engaged in discussions on pressing governance issues, including climate resilience, energy security, sustainable development financing, decentralized water systems, and rainwater harvesting initiatives. These sessions provided practical insights and policy approaches that local legislative bodies can adopt to better address the evolving needs of their respective communities.
One of the day's significant highlights was the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), strengthening institutional collaboration to provide greater legal support and capacity-building opportunities for local legislators nationwide.
The day concluded with a warm Welcome Ceremony attended by distinguished national and local government leaders, where participants were officially welcomed and encouraged to make the most of the three-day program through meaningful discussions, shared experiences, and the exchange of best practices in local legislation.
As CLLEP 2026 continues, the Philippine Councilors League remains committed to empowering local legislators with the knowledge, skills, and partnerships necessary to build stronger, more responsive, and future-ready communities.
