| On August 26, 2026, VQS 6-Aklan Substation, represented by Dr. Christine Lynn Marcelino-Melgarejo, Veterinarian III, conducted a courtesy meeting with Engr. Jerry B. Abello, Division Manager of the Philippine Ports Authorityโ€“Terminal Management Office (PPA-TMO) Aklan, at Dumaguit Port.

The meeting focused on the tentative schedule for the opening of RoRo operations at the port this September and the inspection of the allocated space for Agricultural Quarantine personnel within the terminal. The activity was also attended by Mrs. Arlene Pernia, OIC-Regional Manager of the Bureau of Plant Industryโ€“Plant Quarantine Service 6 (BPI-PQS 6). The meeting also covered the necessary arrangements for the reopening of the port and the deployment of Agricultural Quarantine personnel from the BAI and BPI.

| On August 26, 2026, VQS 6 conducted a Coordination Meeting with Region 6 Local Government Units and Other Government Attached Agencies at the NMIS Conference Room, Parola, Iloilo City.

The meeting brought together VQS 6 Substation Heads, Provincial and City Veterinarians, as well as representatives from the Department of Agriculture โ€“ Regional Field Office VI (DA-RFO VI), National Meat Inspection Service โ€“ Regional Technical Operations Center VI (NMIS-RTOC 6), and the Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (RADDL).

On behalf of Dr. Nilo P. Lingaya, VQS 6 Head, Dr. Jomalyn Italia-Memarion, Officer-in-Charge, delivered the welcome message. Thereafter, Dr. Pearl Joy A. Vidal-Gerawa, Planning Officer, led the discussion on Local Veterinary Quarantine Policies. Mr. Sulmer G. Gamarcha, RAgr., OLSPIS Coordinator, presented updates on OLSPIS, e-VHC, AIDCA, and VQS 6 accomplishments.

Key discussions focused on local veterinary quarantine policies, veterinary quarantine operational and regulatory updates, available RADDL tests for large animal transport requirements, and updates on inter-provincial animal transport. The open forum also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss current concerns, challenges, and best practices in the implementation of veterinary quarantine measures.

The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among BAI, LGUs, and concerned government agencies, promote harmonized implementation of veterinary quarantine measures, and enhance animal health protection, disease prevention, and regulatory compliance across Western Visayas.

The activity was moderated by Mr. Ruben A. Italia, RAgr., Livestock Inspector II.

| On August 12, 2026, VQS Iloilo conducted its 2nd Quarter Meeting at Darag Hall, DA RFO VI, Parola, Iloilo City, bringing together personnel from the Iloilo and Guimaras Substations to discuss operational updates, personnel development, and organizational concerns.

The activity commenced with welcome remarks from Dr. Jomalyn Italia-Memarion, Next-in-Rank, followed by a message from Dr. Nilo P. Lingaya, Station Head. A session on Socio-Emotional Competency Development was facilitated by Dr. Italia-Memarion, while Dr. Maybelle Parreรฑo presented updates on local animal movement regulations. Discussions were also conducted on veterinary quarantine operational and regulatory updates, airport and seaport concerns, and Human Resource Information System (HRIS) updates. The program was moderated by Mr. Vince Philip Rendaje.
