Strengthening its partnership with parents and the community, Rizal Elementary School conducted the Parents and Stakeholders Orientation for the implementation of the DepEd Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program today, August 5, 2026.
The orientation brought together parents, teachers, and barangay officials, to discuss the school's initiatives in supporting learners who need additional academic assistance, particularly in literacy.
Leading the orientation was Ma'am May Ann C. Abello, School ARAL Coordinator, who presented the objectives, implementation guidelines, and the vital role of parents in ensuring the success of the ARAL Program. She emphasized that consistent support from families is essential in helping learners recover and strengthen foundational skills.
The activity also featured the presentation of Project RESBAK (Reading Enhancement and Support: Basahin, Alamin, Kumilos!), Rizal Elementary School's enhanced literacy program, by Sir Agustin T. Estoque, School English Coordinator. The program aims to improve learners' reading proficiency through structured interventions and meaningful reading experiences, while encouraging learners to read with understanding and apply what they learn in everyday life.
Meanwhile, Hon. Wilbur T. Orada, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Tanza Esperanza, Iloilo City, delivered an advocacy talk highlighting the importance of creating child-friendly communities where learners feel safe, supported, and empowered both in school and at home.
School leaders emphasized that the success of the ARAL Program relies on the collective efforts of teachers, parents, local government units, and community stakeholders. Through stronger partnerships, Rizal Elementary School hopes to provide every learner with the support needed to overcome learning gaps and achieve better academic outcomes.
The orientation concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to work together in creating a learning environment where every Rizalian is given the opportunity to succeed.
