SYNOPSIS: Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas.

FORECAST:

Occidental Mindoro will have Monsoon rains due to Southwest Monsoon.

Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Western Visayas, will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.

The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.
Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will experience Light to Moderate winds from South to Southwest with Slight to Moderate seas.

PAGTAYA:
Ang Occidental Mindoro ay makakaranas ng mga pag-ulan ng Habagat dahil sa Southwest Monsoon.

𝐇𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐬, 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭-𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧

The Office of Civil Defense Region VI (OCD VI) turned over 1,649 Family Hygiene Kits and 2,817 bottles of water to the Municipality of Pototan, Iloilo on September 3, 2026, to support families affected by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and recent weather disturbances.

The assistance aims to help meet the immediate needs of affected families and augment the municipality’s ongoing response efforts.

OCD VI continues to coordinate with local governments to provide timely assistance during weather-related emergencies.

In view of the haze affecting several areas in the Philippines, possibly associated with smoke and transboundary haze from ongoing fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, the DENR-EMB Region VI continues to closely monitor ambient air quality levels in Iloilo City and other areas within the Metro Iloilo Airshed.
Based on the latest ambient air quality monitoring result from the Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) located at Garden of Love, Brgy. Nabitasan, La Paz, Iloilo City, the recorded PM2.5 rolling 24-hour AQI average as of 12:00 PM on September 4, 2026, is classified as “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups The result indicates that air quality may pose a health concern, particularly for sensitive individuals, including children, older adults, pregnant women, and persons with existing respiratory or heart conditions. Members of sensitive groups are advised to limit prolonged or heavy outdoor activities and to reduce exposure to outdoor air when possible. When going outdoors is necessary, consider taking appropriate precautions to reduce exposure to particulate matter.
Meanwhile, the PM10 rolling 24-hour AQI averages recorded at the Ambient Air Monitoring Stations in Oton, Pavia, and San Miguel as of 12:00 PM on September 4, 2026, remained within the “Fair” AQI category. This indicates that air quality in these areas was generally acceptable during the monitoring period, with pollutant concentrations remaining within the corresponding Fair AQI level.
DENR-EMB Region VI will continue to monitor air quality levels across the Metro Iloilo Airshed, especially while haze conditions persist. Updated monitoring results will be regularly posted through the official DENR-EMB Region VI channels for public information, awareness, and guidance.

𝐑/𝐋𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌𝐂𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

A total of 29 participants from Regional and Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (R/LDRRMCs) completed the Enhanced Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Planning Training held on August 17–20, 2026, at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity in developing and improving local DRRM plans that support risk-informed decision-making, preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience-building.

Meanwhile, the PM10 rolling 24-hour AQI averages recorded at the Ambient Air Monitoring Stations in Oton, Pavia, and San Miguel as of 9:00 AM on September 3, 2026, remained within the “Fair” AQI category. 📢 AIR QUALITY ADVISORY | ILOILO CITY

As of 9:00 AM, September 3, 2026, air quality monitoring in Iloilo City recorded a “Very Unhealthy” PM2.5 level.

The public, especially those with heart or respiratory conditions, is advised to limit outdoor exposure, postpone unnecessary outdoor activities, and take appropriate precautions when going outside.
