Official Statement on the Points System for Lin-ay sang Camalig 2026
In line with maintaining transparency and fairness in the conduct of Lin-ay sang Camalig 2026, the organizing committee would like to clarify the implementation of the points system related to ticket participation.
All candidates will be given corresponding points based on the number of tickets they are able to generate or sell. This initiative aims to encourage active participation while supporting the success of the event. And we clarify this to our candidates after the pictorial and before they sell the tickets.
The point allocation is as follows:
- Candidates who reach ₱5,000 and above in ticket sales will be awarded 5 points added to their final score.
- Candidates who generate below ₱5,000 will receive 3 points added to their final score.
This system has been carefully designed to ensure that all candidates are still given points, while also recognizing the effort and contribution of those who go beyond the set target.
Furthermore, we would like to provide clarification regarding the final scoring between Candidate No. 2 and Candidate No. 3.
Based on the tabulated results prior to the performance points, Candidate No. 3 was leading by 1 point over Candidate No. 2. However, upon applying the ticket-based points system, Candidate No. 3 received 3 points (for generating below ₱5,000), while Candidate No. 2 qualified for 5 points (for generating ₱5,000 and above).
With this, Candidate No. 2 gained a higher additional score, resulting in her total surpassing that of Candidate No. 3. Therefore, Candidate No. 2 rightfully obtained the highest overall score and is declared the winner.
This outcome reflects the proper and transparent application of the agreed scoring system, combining both performance-based judging and ticket participation points.
We thank everyone for their understanding.
