Provincial Legal Office Joins SGGC Coordination Meeting-

The Provincial Legal Office (PLO) actively participated in the coordination meeting on the Smart Green Government Center (SGGC) with Sta. Barbara LGU.

During the meeting, the PLO presented the legal framework including the preparation of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Provincial Government of Iloilo and qualified beneficiaries to establish the terms and the responsibilities of both parties.

Also present during the meeting are key officials of Sta. Barbara LGU and the Punong Barangay of Bolong Este and Inangayan.

in view of the recent economic development following the ongoing geopolitical conflict in the Middle East, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminded LGUs on the continuing prohibition on the collection of pass-through fees pursuant to Executive Order No. 41 Series of 2023 and in relation to Executive Order No. 110 Series of 2026.

Under EO 41, "all LGUs are prohibited from collecting toll fees and charges upon all motor vehicles transporting goods or merchandise, while passing through any national roads and such other roads not constructed and funded by LGUs pursuant to Section 155 of RA No. 7160.โ€

Likewise, the DILG also encouraged LGUs on the โ€œunhampered movement of essential goods, people, and services within their area of jurisdiction, through the temporary suspension or flexible implementation of truck bans, specifically for vehicles transporting essential goods.โ€
