August 26โ27, 2026 | Aklan and Capiz โIn its continuing commitment to ensuring the safety, reliability, and sustainable management of irrigation infrastructure, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Central Office, conducted a comprehensive Dam Inventory Reconciliation and Data Validation activity in the Aklan River Irrigation System (ARIS) West and East and the Mambusao River Irrigation System (MRIS).
The activity brought together personnel from the NIA Central Office, Regional Office, and NIA Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office to verify, reconcile, and validate dam inventory records against actual field conditionsโstrengthening the accuracy and reliability of data essential to dam safety, infrastructure monitoring, asset management, and future planning.
The activity was led by personnel from the NIA Central Office, headed by Engr. SweetClaire L. Gamboa, Principal Engineer A and Section Head of the Dam Safety Unit, IEC-OD, together with personnel from the NIA Regional Office, headed by Engr. Andres Bonie O. Tuala, Principal Engineer C, as well as personnel from the NIA Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office, headed by Engr. Darlene T. Macapobre, Supervising Engineer A, and Engr. Garry E. Dela Cruz, Sr. Engineer A.
Under the management of Acting Division Manager Engr. Julieta E. Gallardo who provided leadership and coordination, NIA-ACIMO successfully implemented the field validation activities within the area of responsibility.
Through this collaborative undertaking, NIA continues to uphold its commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and resilient irrigation infrastructure in support of efficient irrigation service delivery and the sustained development of the country's agricultural sector.
