𝟖𝟗 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬, 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰

Today, we celebrate 89 years of 𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 since Iloilo City became a chartered city on August 25, 1937.

Iloilo City's journey to cityhood happened during the American Commonwealth era when Commonwealth Act No. 158 was enacted to consolidate five wealthy, independent municipalities into a unified metropolitan powerhouse.

Despite being unified under one city hall for 89 years, Iloilo City's districts maintain their unique identities through distinct cultural festivals, specialized culinary legacies, architectural landmarks, and preserved layout structures.

The primary objective of this localized holiday is to give the people of Iloilo City full opportunity to participate in, honor, and enjoy the milestones of their 89th cityhood celebration

As you take on your Preliminary Examinations, remember to trust what you've learned, stay confident, and give your best in every subject. One exam does not define your potential; it is simply another step in your Centralian journey.
