Day 1/5 of Synchronized ECCD Checklist Assessment

The twenty four (24) Child Development Centers in Jaro I District conducted a Synchronize ECCD Checklist Assessment started today, September 14 up to September 18, 2026.

The Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Checklist is important because it tracks a young child's growth across key developmental domains and flags potential delays early on.

Core Purposes and Importance:

Monitors Development: It helps child development workers, parents, and caregivers see if a child (aged 0 to 4) is growing and learning adequately for their age.

Detects Risks Early: It pinpoints children who might be at risk for developmental delays so adults can provide timely help.

Covers Seven Domains: It evaluates seven crucial areas: gross motor skills, fine motor skills, self-help, receptive language, expressive language, cognitive skills, and social-emotional development.

EVERYDAY PLAY COMMUNITY NOW OPEN TO ALL

The Iloilo City Government, in partnership with PhilSeven Foundation, Inc., officially conducted the turnover of the Everyday Play Community, a community-based space designed to promote play, learning, creativity, and meaningful interaction among children and families.

The turnover ceremony was graced by Iloilo City Mayor Raisa S. Trenas, highlighting the City Government’s continued commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and child-friendly spaces where every child can learn, play, and thrive.

The Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ICDRRMO), in partnership with the University of San Agustin – Social Advocacy and Community Engagement Office (USA-SACEO), proudly spearheaded the Workshop on the DRR Alphabet Learning Guide for Day Care Teachers.
This pioneering workshop prepared Child Development Teachers for the upcoming pilot testing by introducing an engaging, age-appropriate learning guide that weaves Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) concepts into early childhood education through the DRR Alphabet. By nurturing awareness of disaster preparedness and climate resilience at the earliest stages of learning, this initiative builds a strong foundation for a culture of safety and responsibility among children.
Professor Frank Emboltura enriched the program with his expertise, guiding participants through practical strategies to effectively deliver lessons in the classroom. His insights empowered educators to transform complex DRR concepts into meaningful, child-friendly learning experiences.
Together, we strengthen our educators, inspire our classrooms, and shape a generation of resilient, informed, and prepared young learners, ready to face challenges and champion safety for their communities.

3,300 NEW JOLLIBEE STORYBOOKS: BIDA ANG SAYA SA PAGBASA! 📚💙

Every child deserves the chance to dream, imagine, and discover the joy of reading. That is why receiving 3,300 new Jollibee storybooks is more than just a donation—it is an investment in the future of our young Ilonggos.

My heartfelt thanks to G-PJ Holdings Corporation – Jollibee Franchise, led by Pierre Jefferson "Ayong" Go and Managing Director Jed Patrick Go, for believing in our children and supporting our literacy programs.

Soon, these English and Filipino storybooks will reach our daycare centers and indoor and outdoor libraries, giving more young Ilonggos the opportunity to learn, dream bigger, and build values that will guide them for life. Ang mas maayo nga palaabuton sang aton syudad nagasugod gid sa aton mga kabataan.

To celebrate this meaningful gift, nag-storytelling man kita upod sa aton Talatapan Kids pinaagi sa story nga "Mga Kaibigan ng Kalikasan." Its message is simple but important: ang basura dapat ihaboy gid sa basurahan.

Sugod Agosto 10 tubtob 28, 2026, ipatigayon ang Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA). Ginapanawagan ang tanan nga ginikanan kag manugbantay nga dal-on ang inyo mga kabataan nga sakop sang target 6-59 months old age group sa pinakamalapit nga vaccination site agud mabakunahan.
Ang bakuna kontra sa tigdas kag makayha libre, luwas, kag epektibo.
Pinaagi sa MR SIA, mapalig-on naton ang proteksyon sang aton mga kabataan kag malikawan ang paglapta sang sini nga mga balatian sa aton komunidad.
Ang isa ka bakuna subong mahimo nga proteksyon para sa mas masanag nga buas.

The Iloilo City Nutrition Program through the partnership with the Lusog Liit and Edu Liit of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) conducted a Synchronized Storytelling Activity (NUTRIKWENTO) with the assistance of twenty four (24) Child Development Workers in their respective Child Development Centers in Jaro I District.

The activity feature a story entitled: “Ang Rainbow Plate Adventure ni Mia”, a healthy eating habit story that developed to promote proper nutrition and healthy eating habits of Infant-Toddler Early Development (ITED) children.

We would like to thanked Mary Lalaine P. Poblete, MD- City Nutrition Action Officer, and Iloilo City Nutrition Program for the initiative and support to the ECCD ITED Program of Iloilo City. To all parents, and children for their cooperation.
