STORM WARNING: Severe Tropical Storm "Opong" (Bualoi) has made landfall and is currently over Masbate, with maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h and gustiness of up to 150 km/h. It is moving west-northwestward at 30 km/h.

The weather system, a combination of Severe Tropical Storm "Opong" and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), is directly affecting the Visayas region. Iloilo and other parts of Western Visayas have been placed under a Heavy Rainfall Warning. This means there is a threat of flooding and landslides, especially in low-lying areas and mountainous regions. The coastal waters around the Visayas are experiencing rough to very rough conditions, making all sea travel risky for all vessels.

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins from PAGASA, prepare for potential flooding and landslides, and avoid venturing out to sea. It is crucial to stay indoors and seek shelter in sturdy buildings. Those in low-lying or high-risk areas should be prepared to follow local government instructions for evacuation.

Barangay Assembly Day

Barangay President Roxas conducted a Barangay Assembly on October 19, 2024, with the theme “Talakayan sa Barangay: Aktibong Diskusyon ng Pamayanan Tungo sa Masigla at Maunlad na Bagong Pilipinas.” The aim of this assembly was to promote transparency and accountability, ensuring active engagement and responsiveness within the community. The SK chairman and SK council also participated in the event.
