Awareness of the vital role played by the youth, there are two basic strategies used (1) Organization of Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines, Inc. Organization of Pag-asa Youth of the Philippines, Inc. The PYAP is organized in every barangay where there is a high incidence of out-of-school youth and oth
er disadvantaged youth. PYAP are federated in the Barangay, Municipal/City, Provincial, Regional and National levels to promote networking and various level.
2. Development of Peer Support System
Considering the credibility and influence of the peers in the life of the youth, selected Youth Development Leader who has the interest, willingness, and capability to serve as peer counselors, educators, and advocates for positive lifestyles, environment, Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc. are trained to assist the Youth Service Providers. WHAT IS PAG-ASA YOUTH ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (PYAP) INC.? The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines, Inc. or PYAP, Inc. is a duly constituted barangay-based organization of the out-of-school youth between 15-24 years old who are clienteles of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The PYAP was first incorporated on July 29, 1074, with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the name of Pag-asa Youth Movement, Inc. or PYM Inc. and thus become an affiliate organization of DSWD, as a result of innovative programs and services and further strengthening the capabilities of the youth program, the PYM, Inc. changed its name to PYAP Inc. based on its new SEC Registration No. 01328 approved on April 12, 1996. To help the out-of-school youth engage in various activities that will promote their social, economic, physical mental, and spiritual development
To encourage, create and facilitate worthwhile opportunities for self-expression and development of proper attitudes and behavior for self-awareness and self-fulfillment;
To develop and strengthen basic, social, spiritual, and cultural values, enhance social functioning and develop the responsibility of the youth for the betterment of his/her self, family, and community;
To prepare the youth maximum participation in the community through various activities that promote social and economic development such as food production, community volunteer work, health and nutrition, population awareness, promotion of children’s rights, disaster preparedness, relief operation, and community organization;
To receive gifts, donations, contributions, financial assistance grants or loans from whatever source to invest and reinvest, collect and pay whereof as may pursue its goals and objectives. TARGET CLIENTELE
Must be out-of-school (OSY) or youth with special needs between 15-24 years old and Youth with Special Needs, who are clienteles of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
