We warmly welcome our Social Work intern students from CPU as they begin their casework journey with the CSWDO City Proper District.

We hope this internship provides you with meaningful learning experiences, especially in handling and managing special cases, while giving you a deeper understanding of the various programs and services of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Despite the storm, we chose to be happy. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

July 12, 2026 | Sta. Maria Gym (Ateneo Blue Dragon Gym)

Even in the midst of challenging weather, hope and resilience prevailed. Our internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Brgy. Ma. Clara, City Proper, took part in a fun and meaningful psychosocial activity that brought smiles and lifted spirits.

Throughout the day, 40 displaced families were served warm breakfast and lunch, while ready-to-eat food packs and hygiene kits from DSWD were distributed to support their immediate needs.

By 2:45 PM, as weather conditions improved, the IDPs safely returned to their homes.

Today, July 11, 2026, the CSWDO City Proper District immediately responded to the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) who evacuated from Brgy. Ma. Clara, City Proper due to strong winds and rough waves. They are currently taking temporary shelter at the Sta. Maria Gymnasium.

Through the CSWDO - Disaster Response Management Division Iloilo City the Uswag Community Kitchen was activated to provide warm meals to the IDP's , Folding beds, foam mattresses, and food packs were also distributed to ensure that every displaced family receives essential support while staying at the evacuation center. Psychosocial activity was also conducted by our day care workers to help ease the stress and anxiety of the affected families, especially the children.

We thank our ever-supportive Mayor Raisa Treรฑas for ensuring that all necessary assistance is available.

The CSWDO remains committed to delivering timely assistance and ensuring the safety and well-being of every affected family during times of disaster.
