UPDATE: 2026 EXCELL Awards Initial Assessment

The Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC) successfully facilitated the initial assessment for the 2026 Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) Awards today, working closely with evaluators from the DILG Iloilo Provincial Office.

LOOK: Gov. Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. discussed potential integrated and collaborative development with the Department of Agriculture (DA) through potentially complementing site development in the latter's property in Santa Barbara, Iloilo and with the Department of Health (DOH) through the Western Visayas Sanitarium as a potential site for medical tourism.

ATM: Convergence Meeting and Site Visit for the Community - Based Coffee Shop and Agri - Eco Tourism Livelihood Project. This initiative is part of the Tubong Turismo Program of the Municipality of Tubungan, Iloilo. The activity is initiated by the Tubungan LGU and participated by key offices from Iloilo Provincial Government led by Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul Banias with NGAs and CSOs.

LOOK: The Provincial Government of Iloilo, through the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC), joined the joint site assessment conducted on August 7, 2026 in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, together with the Department of Agriculture Regional Office VI (DA-6) and representatives from the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Center.

The activity served as an initial technical assessment to explore potential collaborative projects between the Provincial Government and DA-6, including the proposed establishment of facilities such as a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Operations Center and other complementary development initiatives. The site visit provided an opportunity for participating offices to evaluate the suitability of the proposed location, discuss technical and operational considerations, and identify possible areas of cooperation.
