01 SEPTEMBER 2026

As we commence the celebration of this year’s National Peace Consciousness Month, we honor the courage, strength and determination of every Filipino who has chosen to walk the path of peace, reconciliation, and unity.

Our focus as a nation has decisively shifted from navigating the complex challenges of internal conflict towards the noble pursuit of peacebuilding. Our efforts have paid off. The dividends of peace are now upon us.

A just and lasting peace requires more than silencing the instruments of war and signing peace accords. We must also channel our collective efforts into nurturing communities where positive peace can firmly take root and flourish.

Our theme for this year’s celebrations, “Kapayapaan Pagtibayin, Kaunlaran Paigtingin,” is a reminder of this fundamental truth: lasting peace and sustainable progress are inseparable and must be pursued simultaneously.

The true measure of peace is when it becomes the lived reality of all Filipinos, which is felt through sustainable livelihoods, empowered Filipino families, and shared prosperity across the entire archipelago.

In the spirit of solidarity under a Bagong Pilipinas, we call on the entire nation to champion long-lasting peace and inclusive development in your homes, workplaces, and communities. Peacebuilding must be a whole-of-nation effort.

Every act of kindness, every effort aimed to overcome misunderstanding, and every hand extended in solidarity strengthens the peace we now enjoy and reinforces the very fabric of our nationhood.

Let us protect the hard-won gains of peace, continue to foster hope, and build a progressive and resilient nation. May the spirit of peace reign in our hearts and minds this month and beyond.

Happy 22nd National Peace Consciousness Month to all!
