As we celebrate Indigenous Peoples Month both nationally and locally, Iligan City Culture and Arts Office join as we honor and celebrate “𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐍 𝐊𝐀𝐆 𝐀𝐌𝐔𝐋 𝐀𝐌𝐔𝐋 𝐇𝐔 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐖𝐀”, highlighting the 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆!

This celebration honors the 𝟴 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻 whose legacy continues to shape the culture and soul of Iligan, reminding us that the culture of our Indigenous Peoples that lives on is part of what makes Iligan live and breathe 🌿

𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐔𝐍 𝟖𝟎𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘

Last October 16, 2025, at the Ethnic Center, the City Government of Iligan welcomed guests from Global UNAP, UNAP Mindanao Chapter, and the Philippine Muslim Women Council for the launching of the UN Peace Center in celebration of the UN’s 80th Anniversary.

Commissioner Christian Aguado opened the event with a message promoting a healthy environment, followed by Commissioner Norhata Alonso’s acknowledgment of distinguished guests and partners. City Administrator Darwin J. Manubag delivered an acceptance message, emphasizing Iligan’s localization of the 17 SDGs into 15 IDGs.

The ceremony highlighted the city’s commitment to peace, heritage, and sustainable development.

27th Management Committee Meeting of LGU Iligan held at the Ethnic Center LGU Iligan.

As we geared towards the second term of Mayor Siao, continuous brainstorming and meeting of the minds were initiated to address a lot of issues and concerns affecting the city. There were a lot of milestones already but the effort to continuously improve and address the 15 Iligan Development Goals is our primordial concern set by Mayor Siao.

Some of the concerns were tackled at the Mancon as follows;

✅Gov Mails of each department, EGov Campaign, digitalization updates
✅SPMS Manual and OPCR/IPCR Updates
✅Budget utilization and ranking per dept.
✅Centralization of MOOE, OGS
✅Security Protocols of LGU Premises
✅ Procurement Process Concerns
✅Printed IDG/ Departmental reports

It is noted that the Siao administration rallies on the collective effort of all department heads. Alignment of priorities and harmonization are important initiatives to achieve more.
This practice has not be done institutionally in the past. This is indeed collaborative governance.
