The Bureau of Customs Collection District X, under the leadership of Atty. Manuel O. Zurbito, Jr., officially welcomed Coll. Nasrudin D. G**o as the new Subport Collector of the Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

In a formal turnover ceremony held on May 13, 2026, Coll. G**o officially assumed office, succeeding outgoing MCT Subport Collector Atty. Geniefelle P. Lagmay, who has been reassigned as the new Acting District Collector of the Port of Subic.

This marks the return of Coll. G**o to the Mindanao Container Terminal, where he previously served as Chief of Assessment before leading the Subport of Iligan as Subport Collector for six years.

In his message, Coll. G**o called for the support and cooperation of MCT employees, assuring them that he would continue and build upon the strong foundation established by his predecessors in leading the port, which has long been recognized as the primary revenue driver for the Collection District.

"I ask for your support, cooperation, and teamwork. The success of this Subport depends not only on one leader, but on all of us working together with unity, dedication, and one common goal, to serve the Bureau of Customs and the public with integrity and excellence," said Coll G**o.

District Collector Zurbito also expressed his support and confidence in Coll. G**oโ€™s leadership as he assumes responsibility for overseeing the Subport and advancing the BOCโ€™s mandate on revenue generation, border protection, and trade facilitation, in line with the Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization Movement of BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, which promotes meaningful and lasting reforms within the BOC.

BOC Cuts Red Tape, Extends Importer and Broker Accreditation to 3 Years

The Bureau of Customs (BOC), under the leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno and with the approval of Department of Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, has introduced a key reform extending the accreditation validity of importers and customs brokers from one (1) year to three (3) years, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to reduce red tape and improve ease of doing business.

Under the new CAO, importer accreditation will be valid for three (3) years instead of one (1) year. A one-time accreditation fee of โ‚ฑ5,000 will apply for the three-year period, reducing overall costs for importers. The BOC will grant automatic renewal to importers with at least six (6) consecutive years of good standing or those accredited under the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and Super Green Lane programs.
