The third day marked the culmination of the simulation of parliamentary proceedings. Through the Plenary Proper, delegates experienced firsthand the formal parliamentary processโ€”engaging in discussions, motions, and legislative procedures that strengthened their leadership and governance skills. They also crafted resolutions representing each of the 10 Centers of Youth Participation.

As this parliamentary session comes to a close, may the resolutions crafted, lessons learned, and connections built continue to inspire meaningful action and transformative leadership beyond the halls of parliament.

The Iligan Youth Parliament 2026 officially commences today, anchored on the theme, โ€œUpholding Participatory Governance: Voices of Young Parliamentarians.โ€ The event gathers empowered young leaders and youth representatives from across the city for a meaningful platform of learning, dialogue, and active participation in governance.

For Day 1, participants engaged in insightful discussions on Parliamentary System and Procedures led by Sitty Nor-Aisah M. Pumbayah, providing the delegates with a deeper understanding of parliamentary processes and legislative practices. Meanwhile, Maria Maida T. Daniot shared valuable discussions on governance and leadership, inspiring the youth to become proactive partners in nation-building. The session on the 10 Centers of Youth Participation, presented by the National Youth Commission, further emphasized the vital role of the youth in community development and participatory governance.

As the parliament continues, the activity remains a strong avenue for empowering the voices of young Iliganons and nurturing future leaders committed to public service and civic engagement. This initiative is made possible through the unwavering support of Frederick W. Siao, whose commitment to youth empowerment and participatory governance continues to inspire and strengthen programs for the Iliganon youth.
