The DTI Isabela Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Benito Soliven, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Benito Soliven, successfully launched its maiden โDTI Serbisyo Caravan: A Roadshow of DTI Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPS) for Soliveniansโ on 26 May 2026, in Benito Soliven, Isabela โ a one-stop service caravan aimed at bringing various business development programs and government services closer to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), aspiring entrepreneurs, and business owners in the municipality.
The activity gathered MSMEs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and business establishments (BEs) to access entrepreneurial development services and business assistance programs designed to strengthen the municipalityโs growing local enterprise sector.
During the acknowledgment of participants, Chairperson of the Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Ma. Kristina Apple Quesada emphasized that the participants are the very heart and reason behind the activity, recognizing their invaluable contributions to driving economic activity and local business growth within the municipality.
In his opening remarks, Municipal Mayor John Paul S. Azur expressed his appreciation to local MSMEs and business enterprises for their significant contributions to the municipalityโs economic growth. He also highlighted the promising potential of Benito Solivenโs banana fiber industry and locally made products, while sharing upcoming initiatives such as the launching of a Pasalubong Center this June to further expand market opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The mayor likewise emphasized that the DTI Serbisyo Caravan is only the beginning, with more runs of the activity set to be conducted across the municipality to continuously empower local businesses.
In his message of support, Acting Provincial Director Cyrus I. Restauro expressed his appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Benito Soliven, particularly Mayor John Paul S. Azur, for its strong support to initiatives that empower MSMEs and strengthen the local business sector. He also recognized the municipality as an active partner of the agency and emphasized the importance of collaboration between local government units and national agencies in fostering inclusive economic growth.
The caravan featured a series of learning sessions and business development interventions facilitated by DTI personnel and partner agencies. Ms. Sarah M. Mendoza, Negosyo Center Business Counselor of Benito Soliven, provided an overview of the program and discussed DTI Programs, Activities, Projects, and Services (PAPS). Ms. Josa Beth M. Salvador, Trade-Industry Development Specialist (TIDS), presented opportunities under the Coconut Farmers Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) and Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program.
Training on product packaging and labeling was conducted by Ms. Mary Rose M. Dumpit, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist (STIDS), while marketing strategies and techniques were discussed by STIDS Ms. Maria Corazon C. Mamuri. Business Education and Information sessions were also facilitated by TIDS Mr. Mel Mari Angelo P. Laciste.
Participants were likewise introduced to SB Corporation loan programs and financing opportunities through loan facilitation and account creation assistance led by Negosyo Center-Trade Industry Development Analyst of Cauayan City, Ms. Novelyn G. Eder.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and consultations while availing themselves of various business services, including Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) registration, PhilGEPS registration assistance, product development consultations, loan facilitation, and account creation assistance.
The successful conduct of the caravan was made possible through the support of the BPLO personnel led by BPLO Designate Mr. Robert M. Esteban. Concluding the event, Mr. Rusty A. Etrata thanked the participants for their active participation and support, officially wrapping up the successful conduct of the first-ever DTI Serbisyo Caravan in Benito Soliven.
Through this initiative, DTI Isabela and the Local Government Unit of Benito Soliven reaffirm their commitment to continuously strengthen local enterprises by bringing accessible business development programs and services closer to Solivenian entrepreneurs.
