“One will soon point out that visiting Isabela without seeing the ILAGAN Sanctuary or Isabela Landmark, Animal, Garden and Nature Sanctuary is like going to Egypt without seeing the pyramid. “
It is a portion of Fuyot Spring National Park that comprised the Northern Sierra Madre National Park. The caves was discovered by local residents in the 16th century and named it after Queen Victoria who rei

ned Britain during that time. The ILAGAN Sanctuary is the major tourist spot in Ilagan; it features nine-chambered cave in the size of a chapel. It was made famous for its stalactites and stalagmites, together with its naturally formed lattices and shining rocks of different sizes and shapes that glow like crystals in the dark. Nearby is the still uncharted Immusok Cave which is said to be more daring than the Sta. Victoria Cave; its cascading waters limit the trekkers from further expedition. A hike of about 2.5 kilometres will lead to Pinzal Falls which when seen from afar resembles a lady with long silver hair ; it measures 20 meters high from the water spout to the base of three meters wide and the source of refreshing water to the nearby pool. It was noted that several caves in the area are still to be explored as of this date. The latest discovery was when Mayor Diaz comes across the “bat cave.”

There are five creeks in its surroundings that regulate and maintain atmospheric temperature to an average of 25 degrees centigrade
Other attractions in the sanctuary includes a mini-zoo which also housed two tiger cubs, herbal plantation and oil extraction facility, botanical garden, swimming pool, picnic areas, boat, horseback and bicycle rides, hanging bridge, fish pond and parks adopted and developed by Non Government Organizations. Also present in the park is the fastest Zipline in the country traveling at 80 kph at 350 meters line at the height of 72 meters. Sports facilities include basketball and volley ball courts and the wall climbing and quick jump. Summer would be more fun at the Sanctuary with the tree top adventure, expanded boating facility and the waving pool.
