Every farmer family is guaranteed a college scholarship slot as a special assistance to farmers who dream of having at least one college graduate in the family. This aims to reduce the financial burdens of farmers in the education of their children, motivating them towards greater productivity. This is integrated with the BOJIE-RODITO OPPORTUNITIES for EDUCATION (BRO-ED), Provincial Scholarship Pr
ogram, as a policy of the Provincial Government. Tagged as the biggest and most comprehensive LGU Scholarship Program, the BRO-Ed has now a total of 14,326 scholars. 9,717 of which are sons and daughters of small farmers who are enrolled in the different campuses of Isabela State University and Philippine Normal University. Last year, the program was also extended to 500 students enrolled at Saint Ferdinand College-Ilagan and Mallig Plains Colleges in Maliig, Isabela. Also, it has 1,029 scholars enrolled in various higher education institutions in the country such as, University of the Philippines, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Central Luzon State University and Cagayan State University. This said number belongs to the Academic Scholarship Program (those who graduated with honors), also under BRO-Ed, where the provincial government is giving cash allowances to the scholars who graduated with honors (Top 10). As a result of commitment of the Provincial Government to adhere to the primary objective of the program, the BRO-Ed continuously serves as an inspiration to the youth of Isabela to study harder, pursue their dreams and aspirations and be part of a more productive future. Furthermore, it constantly motivates small farmer and indigent parents to put their trust and confidence in the government that it is ardent in its role to alleviate their plights. Certainly, BRO-Ed has always ensured that right to quality education of the underprivileged have been always upheld. The Provincial Government of Isabela has maintained sustainability measures to ensure that its educational support to its constituents has always been in place. Throughout the years, with the constant and increasing number of the scholarship recipients, the program has maintained its integrity as the most comprehensive scholarship program in the country. Specifically, as a support to its scholars, the BRO-Ed also extends financial assistance to augment the expenses for licensure examinations review. Moreover, the provincial government provides job opportunities to the scholars after finishing their degrees. Some 52 scholars are now serving as agricultural staff, engineers, nurses and teachers of the Provincial Government. Every year, the program receives an allocation of Php 65M in order to support the aggregate number of scholars. And with this, the Provincial Government of Isabela envisions to make the estimated 25,000 to 40,000 students of Isabela State University, Philippine Normal University and other educational institutions, who are children of small farmers and indigents to be scholars of the Bojie-Rodito Opportunities for Education. DAHIL KAY BRO, MATUTUPAD ANG PANGARAP MO!
