Just last night, the City of Bogo in Cebu was devastated by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake leaving tremendous damages.
While Ibajay is located in the province of Aklan, which is prone to earthquakes, the primary fault line relevant to the area is the West Panay Fault, a major active fault system that stretches over 90 kilometers and runs through parts of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo. Although the specific trace of the fault doesn't run directly through Ibajay itself, the town is situated within the seismically active region covered by this significant fault system
