The award was received through the Balik Salig Program, which recognizes former rebels who are now creating artistic and livelihood products from locally sourced materials. This recognition was conferred during the 33rd Bulawan, 4th Pilak, and 3rd ANP-PGNO Balik Salig Design Competition and Trade Fair held at the SM City Bacolod Events Center in Bacolod City.

The Municipality of Hinoba-an received school bags from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) through the “PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners Campaign” during a turnover activity held on May 26.

The bags will be distributed to public elementary schools across the town as part of the OVP’s initiative to support young learners and promote access to quality education.

Representatives from the Panay and Negros Island Satellite Office of the OVP led the turnover activity, which was warmly welcomed personally by Mayor Daph Anthony V. Reliquias, RN.

MDVR expressed his gratitude for the initiative, saying, “We are truly grateful to the Office of the Vice President for choosing Hinoba-an as one of the beneficiaries of the PagbaBAGo Campaign. This initiative is a big help to our learners and their families as we continue to support their education and future.”

Under the dynamic leadership of Mayor Daph Anthony V. Reliquias, RN, officials and employees of the Local Government Unit of Hinoba-an successfully participated in the Gender Sensitivity Training held on May 18–23, 2026 at Kyla’s Event Hall, Sipalay City.

Anchored on the theme, “Fostering Gender Equality for a Safe and Positive Work Environment,” the activity aimed to deepen awareness and understanding of gender responsiveness, inclusivity, and respect in the workplace.

The training empowered participants with valuable knowledge and practical approaches in promoting equality, preventing discrimination, and building a more supportive and harmonious working environment within the local government.

Through this initiative, the Municipality of Hinoba-an upheld its strong commitment to creating a workplace culture that values dignity, fairness, and equal opportunities for all.

PAMANA Project Inspection Highlights Improved Access and Safety in Brgy. Damutan

An inspection of the PAMANA Project in Barangay Damutan involving the construction of a two-barrel reinforced concrete box culvert with slope protection and 11-meter-long PCCP was carried out on May 21, 2026 through the initiative of the DSWD-PAMANA and LGU of Hinoba-an under the leadership of Mayor Daph Anthony V. Reliquias, RN, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to infrastructure development and community accessibility.

Barangay officials led by PB Ronaldo Jungco, welcomed the completion of the project, citing its long-term benefits to residents, particularly in improving road accessibility, ensuring safer travel during heavy rains, and strengthening the drainage system in the area.

The completed culvert is also expected to boost the transport of agricultural products, provide easier access to essential services, and enhance daily mobility for students, farmers, motorists, and residents, contributing to economic activity and overall community development in the barangay.
