Dahil sa patuloy na sama ng panahong nararanasan sa ilang bahagi ng bansa, narito ang mga paalala mula sa DA-BFAR para sa mga mangingisda at magsasaka.

Ugaliing nakatutok sa mga pinakabagong impormasyon mula sa awtoridad para maiwasan ang labis na pinsala sa mga palaisdaan at pananim, at upang mapanatiling ligtas ang mga sarili at pamilya.

Gayundin, ang lahat ng mga mangingisda ay inaabisuhan na tiyaking nakadaong sa ligtas na lugar ang inyong mga bangka at iwasan ang pangingisda o pagpapalaot kung magpatuloy ang malalakas at matataas na alon.

This is to inform the public of the upcoming Public Consultation on the proposed BFAR Administrative Circular (BAC) entitled “𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝙈𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙪𝙢 𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙞 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲”.

𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴: 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸

ILOILO CITY — DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) National Director Elizer S. Salilig called on regional directors to remain grounded in the mission to uplift the lives of marginal fisherfolk as the agency enters the second half of the year.

Director Salilig arrived today, July 31, for the back-to-back BFAR SAAD Program Phase 2 Mid-Year Review and the BFAR National Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting.

“Let us not be burdened by the numbers and targets ahead. Instead, may they motivate us to get closer to our mission,” Director Salilig said during the closing of the BFAR SAAD Phase 2 Mid-Year Review.

He emphasized strengthening market linkages and putting a spotlight on community-level successes while reiterating his leadership motto, “One Heart, One Direction, One BFAR Family.”

In the afternoon, Director Salilig presided over the ManCom meeting where the Bureau’s leadership reviewed the flagship projects on salt, seaweeds, fisheries management areas (FMA), Philippine Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency Project, and fisherfolk insurance among others.

Director Salilig also emphasized the importance of data and planning to address the issues in the fisheries sector. He further reminded the regions to ensure that there should be no delays in the procurement of projects to improve the delivery of services to the fisherfolk. # # #
