MAYOR ANNALIZA GONZALES-KWAN WELCOMES NEW PNP-EASTERN SAMAR PROVINCIAL DIRECTOR

Guiuan Mayor Annaliza Gonzales-Kwan warmly welcomed the newly appointed Provincial Director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Eastern Samar, Police Colonel Rolando S. Gardiola, during his courtesy visit to the Mayor’s Office on September 3, 2026.

The courtesy visit served as an opportunity to strengthen coordination and foster continued cooperation between the Local Government Unit of Guiuan and the PNP–Eastern Samar in promoting peace, security, and public safety in the community.

Mayor Gonzales-Kwan expressed her support and commitment to working closely with the PNP in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Guiuan.

PUBLIC ADVISORY | PHILIPPINE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM (PhilSys) REGISTRATION

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Registration Team will be conducting National ID registration in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, from August 31 to September 5, 2026, at the Guiuan Municipal Lobby, Ground Floor.

Calling all Guiuananons!

If you have not yet registered for the National ID, take advantage of this opportunity while the PhilSys Registration Team is here in Guiuan.

The registration is open to eligible individuals who wish to secure their Philippine Identification (National ID).

GUIUAN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES DILG REGIONAL LOCAL GOVERNANCE CHAMPIONS (RLGC) ASSESSMENT

Municipal Mayor Annaliza Gonzales-Kwan expressed her sincere gratitude to the DILG Regional Local Governance Champions (RLGC) Validators, MLGOO Niña Servano, LGOO Corrine Tan, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, headed by Vice Mayor Veronica Cabacaba-Ramirez, and the LGU-Guiuan Department Heads and employees for their collective efforts and valuable contributions that led to the successful conduct of the RLGC Assessment on August 10, 2026.

The results of the assessment were favorable across all required indicators under the ten governance areas of the RLGC, reflecting the municipality’s continued commitment to excellence in local governance.

The assessment provided the Municipality of Guiuan an opportunity to demonstrate its dedication to effective governance, responsive and efficient public service, transparency, accountability, and sustainable local development.

Mayor Gonzales-Kwan likewise recognized the teamwork, dedication, and cooperation of everyone involved in the assessment, emphasizing that these collective efforts contribute to building a more responsive, accountable, and service-oriented local government.

LGU-GUIUAN OPENS INTER-COLOR GRAND SPORTS FEST 2026

The Local Government Unit of Guiuan, under the leadership of Mayor Annaliza Gonzales-Kwan, formally opened the Inter-Color Grand Sports Fest 2026 on August 7, 2026, at the Guiuan Gymnasium.

The opening ceremony was graced by Board Member Mark Pol Gonzales as Guest Speaker, whose presence and message of support added significance to the occasion.

Also in attendance were SBM Kinna Mae Kwan-Mabansag, SK Federation President Franzdale Somoray, and Liga ng mga Barangay President Charmaine Villar.

The festivities commenced with a vibrant parade of the participating teams, composed of LGU employees and personnel from various government offices and partner agencies. The six competing LGU teams are: Red Sang’gre, Gray Mavis, Green Pillars, Blue Veritas, White Salvus and Orange Dynamo.

Also participating in the Sports Fest are teams representing the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Regional Trial Court (RTC), and Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC).

Adding color and excitement to the opening celebration were the presentations of the teams’ muses and escorts, energetic chants, and impressive cheerdance performances by selected team members. The event brought together employees and partner agencies in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, fellowship, and sportsmanship.

The Inter-Color Grand Sports Fest 2026 underscores the LGU-Guiuan’s commitment to promoting health and wellness, teamwork, camaraderie, discipline, and unity among its employees and partner government institutions. (LBG)
