𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐃 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office VI conducted an onsite validation in connection with the 2026 Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod Provincial Assessment in Barangay Cabubugan.
The activity forms part of the regional recognition program that honors the exemplary service, dedication, and contributions of Barangay Tanods in maintaining peace and order, public safety, and community resilience. The Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod is a long-standing initiative of DILG Region VI and its partner agencies aimed at recognizing best-performing barangay peacekeepers and strengthening volunteerism at the grassroots level.
The team of evaluators, composed of representatives from the DILG, PNP, BFP, BJMP, NAPOLCOM, and CSO, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the Barangay Tanod organization.
The evaluation included demonstrations and practical assessments on arrest techniques, firefighting, evacuation procedures, Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid, and self-defense skills, highlighting the preparedness, competence, and dedication of the tanods in ensuring public safety, peace and order, and effective emergency response within the community.
Present during the activity were SB Members Hon. Reina Paz Gilo-Alipao, Hon. Cristy Love Custodio-Margarico, Hon. Jo Marie Temelo, and Hon. Ma. Yumilca Gepulle, together with MLGOO Josephus Deysolong and the officials of Barangay Cabubugan headed by Punong Barangay Jeffrey Bade.
The activity underscores the vital role of Barangay Tanods as frontline partners in promoting a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready Barangay Cabubugan.
