Guihulngan City Primary Care Facility I and II, in coordination with the City Health Office, held an HIV 101 orientation for Alternative Learning System (ALS) students in Brgy. Poblacion, Guihulngan City Negros Oriental last March 18, 2026. The activity was supervised by City Health Officer Dr. Alain C. Go, alongside with our Rural Health Physicians, Dr. Lorbie O. Yap and Dr. Aila Joy Carido.
Breaking down this complex medical information into our everyday relatable language, the session empowered our students to understand the transmission, prevention, and the importance of ending social stigma. The students' active participation and thoughtful questions during the question and answer session demonstrated that they felt safe and supported in the learning environment. The lecture did more than just provide facts, it equipped these learners with the practical tools needed to make informed decisions about their health and empowered them to advocate for awareness among their families and friends.
A big thank you to ALS Poblacion Learning Center I and Sir Junde U. Villegas (District ALS Coordinator) for inviting GCPCF I and II to share an HIV 101 lecture with your students. It was an honor to engage with such a dedicated group.
