DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #002

UPDATES: As of 12nn today, the Department of Health reports 2 new cases (PH141-PH142) of COVID-19. The total number of cases in the country is now at 142. The DOH also reports the first Filipino who recovered from COVID-19, which brings the total number of recoveries to 3.

At 4:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 320 km northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar (12.4ºN, 128.6ºE). Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) extending over Northern Luzon.

Forecast:

Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon and over Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast over the rest of Luzon and Visayas and from the northeast to northwest over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.

A team from PDRRMO attended a ten day training on URBAN SEARCH And RESCUE and was conducted by the Hawaii Air National Guard at CENTCOM, Cebu City.

The participants came from the different branches of the Armed Forces and from the PDRRMO Province of Cebu.

The participants underwent a training on the following:

1. Emergency Medical Search and Extraction
2. Shoring
3. Lifting and Cribbing
4. Breaching
5. Rope Technique

The said training was culminated by an eight hour non-stop response simulation.
