Giporlos Municipal Resilience Team Signs Pledge of Commitment to Philippine Community Resilience Project.

GIPORLOS, Eastern Samar — Members of the Municipal Resilience Team (MRest) of Giporlos have formally signed the Pledge of Commitment in support for Panahon ng Pagkilos: The Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP), reaffirming the municipality's dedication to inclusive, people-centered local governance and disaster resilience.

Through the pledge, the members of MRest expressed their firm belief in CDD as a development approach that empowers communities by giving residents direct control over decision-making and resource management.

"Together, we shall transform vulnerabilities into strengths, ensuring a safer and more resilient future for every Filipino," the pledge reads — a commitment now embraced by the men and women of Giporlos' Municipal Resilience Team.

The Municipality of Giporlos, Eastern Samar, in partnership with DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS PAGKILOS – Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP), will conduct the MResT Organizational Meeting on July 8, 2026, at the Giporlos Civic Center. 🗓️📍

This activity aims to formally organize the Municipal Resilience Team, a vital group that will lead efforts in strengthening the community's readiness in facing disasters and other emergencies.

BARANGAY SAN ISIDRO CELEBRATES TURNOVER OF THE NEWLY IMPROVED DAY CARE CENTER

Giporlos, Eastern Samar — Barangay San Isidro marked a significant milestone for its youngest residents on July 3, 2026, with the turnover ceremony of its newly improved Day Care Center, held at 9:00 in the morning.
The event brought together local officials and community members to formally hand over the completed improvement project, which upgraded the center's learning spaces, materials, and safety features to create a more child-friendly and supportive environment for early learning.

The turnover was headed by Jennelyn Genilo ,who represented Municipal Mayor Hon. Gilbert I. Go, underscoring the local government's continued support for early childhood programs in the barangay. She was joined by Barangay Chairwoman Erlinda Docena and Barangay Kagawad Emilda Bagunas, who represented the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), along with CNSPMC Ma. Caridad Tatardillo and Elena Agojayan, ECCD Focal of Giporlos, Eastern Samar.

Their presence reflected the collaborative effort between the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU), the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), and Barangay San Isidro's community volunteers, all of whom played a role in bringing the project to completion.

With the newly improved Day Care Center now turned over to the community, officials expressed optimism that the upgraded facility will provide local children with a safer, more nurturing space to learn and grow. The ceremony served not only as a celebration of the completed project but also as a reaffirmation of the partnership between the municipal government, barangay leadership, and residents in investing in the community's future generations.
