The House Committee on Higher and Technical Education had initially passed on its first deliberation, House Bill No. 9063 or "An Act Converting the Community College of Gingoog City (CCGC) into a State College to be known as "𝙂𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙜 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚".

During the discussion at the committee level, Cong. Lani Mercado-Revilla emphasizes the significance of the proposed bill that seeks to address the growing need of the people of Gingoog City and its neighboring towns in First District of Misamis Oriental for an accessible, affordable, and quality tertiary education.

With the conversion of CCGC into a state college, the constituents of the First District of Misamis Oriental would definitely benefit for wider options of academic programs, increase employment opportunities for teaching and non-teaching personnel, more enrollees and academic scholars, and much improved academic facilities and services.
