In partnership with Datal Batong Integrated School, a comprehensive awareness program on dangerous drugs was conducted among Grade 7–9 students. The activity aimed to educate the learners on the nature of illegal substances, their classification, and the serious risks associated with their use and abuse. Emphasis was placed on the adverse effects of substance abuse on individuals’ physical health, including damage to vital organs and overall bodily functioning; mental condition, such as impaired judgment, addiction, and psychological disorders; social relationships, particularly its impact on family ties, peer influence, and community involvement; and spiritual well-being, highlighting the loss of values, purpose, and moral direction.
The activity also promoted informed decision-making, self-awareness, and resistance to peer pressure through interactive discussions and real-life examples. Students were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles and actively participate in drug prevention initiatives, reinforcing their role as responsible members of the school and community. To our resource speaker, BJMP Jail Nurse Earl Stanley Pasion, RN, Datal Batong Integrated School Principal, Sir Christian Oliver Espiritu, and the 4ps personnel assigned in Datal Batong, Thank you so much for the collaboration and partnership.
