Debate Society The MSU-GSC Debate Society aims to:

1.

Facilitate the educational set-up which is anchored on our ideals of democracy through argumentation and debate on timely issues of the state and those which involve the welfare of the state in general.

2. Meet the needs of the students for adequate means to prepare themselves to discharge intelligently and effectively their functions as citizens of democracy.

3. Provide collegiate and other stu

dent debaters with opportunities to debate various topics using the Oregon-Oxford, Asians Parliamentary and British Parliamentary Debate Formats, but is not limited thereto.

4. Promote competitive practices which will ensure the long-term growth and survival of intercollegiate, academic, and public debate by promoting a form of limited preparation debate which combines an emphasis on both content or matter (analysis, refutation, context) and delivery or manner (style, wit, humor, audience adaption, vocal attributes and body movement), as well as the methods, which should remain consistent with existing international styles of debate format.

5. Organize, facilitate and manage the conduct of debate tournament/s during the Mindanao State University-General Santos City Intramurals.
