Coast Guard Station Western Sarangani and Coast Guard Station Eastern Sarangani attended the Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting, where two proposed resolutions in support of the Philippine Coast Guard were successfully approved.

The approved resolutions aim to:

1. Provide critical disaster response assets and logistical support to CGS Eastern and Western Sarangani, enhancing humanitarian assistance, disaster response, search and rescue, maritime safety, and emergency operations within Sarangani Province.

2. Request the respective Municipal Local Government Units of Sarangani Province to allocate suitable office spaces for the establishment and continued operation of Philippine Coast Guard Sub-Stations within their respective municipalities.

These significant developments further strengthen the operational capability and presence of the Philippine Coast Guard in Sarangani Province, ensuring more effective and responsive service to the public.

Together, we strengthen maritime safety, disaster preparedness, and public service for the people of Sarangani! 🇵🇭⚓

🌊 SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED: WASAR TRAINING CLOSING CEREMONY ⚓

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful conclusion of our Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training today 15 August 2026 at Paulona Beach Resort and Events, Kiamba, Sarangani Province. A massive congratulations to all our newly minted responders who are now equipped with the critical skills to save lives, respond to emergencies, and serve the community. 🫡

This significant milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support, guidance, and leadership of our distinguished guests and partners, Presided by LTJG NIGEL P VILLAFLOR PCG, who formally led the graduation and closing rites, Spearheaded by Sister Erleen L. Carcillar, OND, Executive Director of OND Hesed, whose vision and dedication made this life-saving initiative a reality and Closing Remarks by Municipal Government Department Head (MGDH I / MDRRMO) Sheellah F. Corpuz, REE, MPH, who delivered an inspiring and empowering message to our graduates, reminding them of the true essence of public service and disaster readiness.

To ensure readiness and enhance the life-saving capabilities of our local communities, Commander, Coast Guard Station (CGS) West SAR, LTJG NIGEL P VILLAFLOR PCG, officially presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training today!

Spearheaded by the OND Hesed Foundation, Inc., this vital training program aims to equip our grassroots frontliners with essential water safety and rescue skills. A total of 20 dedicated individuals stepped up to the challenge, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Local Fisherfolk and Representatives from the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) at Paulona Beach Resort, Brgy. Luma, Kiamba, Sarangani Province.

The above reference pertains to the conduct of a 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 by the 𝟏𝟎𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 (𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡) 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧, on 08 August 2026 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Kamanga Sand Bar, Municipality of Maasim, Sarangani Province. Below are the coordinates to be used during the conduct of the said activity:

In this connection, all ships/watercraft transiting within the vicinity of Maasim coastal waters and adjacent sandbar areas all concerned maritime stakeholders, particularly fishermen and other small watercraft operators, to avoid staying, fishing, or anchoring within the Kamanga Sand Bar and its adjacent areas during the scheduled activity. A minimum safety distance of 𝟒𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 on both sides of the target area shall be observed throughout the duration of the live firing exercise.

While vessels may transit or pass through the vicinity, when necessary, they are advised not to stop, anchor, or remain within the firing line, particularly in the area directly in front of the Kamanga Sand Bar as viewed from Camp and to exercise extreme caution at all times to ensure safety of life and property at sea.

Personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Western Sarangani are actively conducting rescue and evacuation operations for residents affected by the continuous heavy rainfall within the Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Our dedicated Coast Guardians are deployed on the ground, working closely with Local Government Units (LGUs) and local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) to ensure the immediate safety of affected families, particularly those situated in low-lying and flood-prone communities.

The PCG strongly advises all residents within the AOR to remain vigilant, prioritize safety, and immediately heed local evacuation advisories.

Coast Guard Station Western Sarangani (CGSWS) is celebrating National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this July under the theme "NAGHAHANDA at KUMIKILOS Tungo sa PANATAG na BAGONG PILIPINAS."

To promote disaster preparedness and resilience, various LGUs, OCD Region XII, and the CDRRMO are hosting month-long activities in General Santos City and the Soccsksargen region, including online webinars, community caravans, and emergency drills. The post emphasizes that disaster resilience begins at home and calls for community-wide cooperation.
