With heavy hearts, the Lagao Central Elementary School (LCES) family announces the passing of one of its beloved teachers, Ma'am 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐍. 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐎, who peacefully joined our Creator on October 13, 2026, at the age of 55.

Her passing brings profound sadness to our school community. She will be deeply missed by her fellow teachers, school personnel, learners, and everyone whose lives she has touched throughout her years of service.

As an educator, she became part of the lives and stories of the many learners she taught and the colleagues she worked with. Her dedication to the teaching profession, shared memories, and the relationships she built within our school community will forever be cherished.

Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the legacy of her service and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live in our hearts.

To her bereaved family and loved ones, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. May the Lord embrace you with His infinite love, grant you strength in this time of sorrow, and comfort your hearts with the promise of eternal life.

You will always be remembered, Ma'am Sherry. Your LCES family will surely miss you.

𝐏𝐌𝐀𝐉. 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐏. 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞, delivered an insightful and meaningful message to the learners of Lagao Central Elementary School during the 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 on October 12, 2026.

In his talk, he reminded learners to always prioritize their safety, remain vigilant, and make responsible decisions both inside and outside the school. He particularly emphasized the important reminder: “𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐊!”

This message encouraged learners to become responsible digital citizens by thinking critically before engaging online, clicking links, sharing information, or interacting with others on social media. He underscored that safety is not limited to our physical surroundings but also extends to the digital world.

His message serves as a timely reminder that every learner has a role to play in creating a safe, responsible, and protective learning environment.

Lagao Central Elementary School (LCES) successfully conducted the 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 alongside the 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐆) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 entitled “𝐌𝐘 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌, 𝐌𝐘 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘.”

Held on October 12, 2026, at the LCES School Open Ground, the activity highlighted the importance of promoting a safe, secure, and protective learning environment for all learners.

The event was further enriched by the presence of our Resource Speaker, 𝐏𝐌𝐀𝐉. 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐏. 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥, Chief of Police, who shared valuable insights on school safety, security awareness, and the importance of maintaining a safe and peaceful school community.

Through the 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐆 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, “𝐌𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦, 𝐌𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲,” learners are encouraged to recognize that wearing their prescribed school uniform is not merely about compliance but also about identity, visibility, security, and belongingness within the school community.

This meaningful activity reinforces our shared commitment to strengthening school safety awareness and fostering a culture of preparedness, discipline, responsibility, and protection among learners, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.

Gayunpaman, patuloy po nating unahin ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mag-aaral, g**o, at kawani ng paaralan.

PUBLIC ADVISORY | LUNGSOD NG GENERAL SANTOS

Ipinapaalam sa lahat na epektibo ngayong Oktubre 8, 2026, suspendido ang trabaho sa lahat ng tanggapan ng pamahalaan sa Lungsod ng General Santos upang bigyang-daan ang pagsusuri sa mga gusali at pagtatasa sa kaligtasan ng mga ito kasunod ng lindol.

Suspendido rin ang klase sa lahat ng antas sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan hanggang sa susunod na abiso.

Hinihikayat ang lahat na manatiling kalmado, mag-ingat sa mga posibleng aftershock, at patuloy na sumubaybay sa mga opisyal na anunsyo at abiso ng pamahalaan.

PUBLIC ADVISORY

Effective October 8, 2026, work in all government offices in General Santos City is suspended to allow structural inspections and safety assessments following the earthquake.

Classes at all levels in public and private schools are likewise suspended until further notice.

The public is advised to remain calm, stay alert for aftershocks, and follow official advisories.

During the feast, another wonderful promise of support was shared. Dr. Myra Javier Atendido pledged to donate another handwashing facility, which will soon be built near our Grade 1 classrooms.
