BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION – REGION XII
Mental Health Support Following Recent Earthquake
In the wake of the recent earthquake that affected our communities, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) stands in solidarity with all residents of General Santos and Sarangani. While we continue to ensure physical safety and structural integrity, we also recognize the importance of mental and emotional well-being during these challenging times.
Mental Health Matters
Disasters can leave lasting emotional impacts. Feelings of fear, anxiety, and helplessness are normal—but you don’t have to face them alone.
📞 Kalingang Bumbero Hotline
In partnership with the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), the BFP has launched the Kalingang Bumbero Hotline:
0962 4584 237
Available 24/7 for confidential counseling and support.
Our trained personnel—including registered psychometricians and psychology graduates—are ready to listen, guide, and respond. If needed, our responder teams can be deployed to ensure your safety and provide assistance.
“We save lives not only from fire, but from silence and suffering. Let’s protect each other—body, mind, and spirit.” – Fire Chief Supt. Nahum Tarroza
Let us continue to uphold the spirit of bayanihan and resilience. If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out. Healing begins with connection.

Today, the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 12, under the leadership of FCSUPT JERRY C LAMANERO, DSC, joins the world in celebrating World Mental Health Month with the theme: “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” reaffirming its strong commitment to promoting and protecting the mental health and well-being of every BFP personnel.
To strengthen this advocacy, the Electronic Mental Health First Aid (E-MHFA) is now activated and ready to serve all BFP personnel within the region.
For BFP personnel in Region 12, you may scan the QR Code below to set a personal appointment or if you feel the need to talk to someone about your mental health and overall well-being.
This year’s theme reminds us that mental health support should remain accessible, even in times of crisis, disasters, and emergencies. Let’s continue to look out for one another and ensure that help is always within reach.
Together, let’s break the stigma, spread awareness, and take care of our mental well-being.
