In line with its mandate to maintain peace, order, and road safety, the Traffic Enforcement Unit, under the leadership of PLTCOL PATRICH A ELMA, Chief, TEU, continuously conducted checkpoint and traffic enforcement operations in strategic areas of General Santos City on June 1, 2026.

Said operation aimed to enhance police visibility, deter criminal activities, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and promote responsible road use among motorists. Traffic enforcers also reminded drivers to observe traffic regulations and cooperate with authorities in maintaining safe and orderly roadways.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the public, strengthening road safety, and supporting the city's efforts in maintaining peace and order.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit reminds all motorists that driving under the influence of alcohol, dangerous drugs, or similar substances is a serious violation of the law and poses a grave threat to public safety.

Personnel of Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), under the supervision of PLTCOL PATRICH A ELMA, Chief, TEU, conducted intensified checkpoint and traffic enforcement operations in various areas of General Santos City on May 31, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to maintain public safety and uphold peace and order.

Said operation aimed to enhance police visibility, promote road safety awareness, deter criminal activities, and ensure compliance with existing traffic laws and regulations. Motorists were likewise encouraged to observe traffic rules, practice defensive driving, and contribute to the safety of all road users.

Kaugnay ng isinagawang checkpoint operation ng Traffic Enforcement Unit, nais po naming linawin sa publiko na ang operasyon laban sa mga colorum na pampasaherong tricycle ay bahagi ng pagpapatupad ng umiiral na batas at ordinansa upang mapanatili ang kaayusan, kaligtasan, at patas na sistema ng pampublikong transportasyon.

Sa isinagawang operasyon, may mga sasakyang nahuli, naticketan, at na-impound dahil sa kawalan ng kaukulang prangkisa at permit, alinsunod sa umiiral na batas at ordinansa. Ang pagpapatupad na ito ay hindi para pigilan ang paghahanapbuhay ng ating mga kababayan, kundi para masiguro ang maayos, ligtas, at patas na sistema ng pampublikong transportasyon.

Nais bigyang-diin ng TEU na mas dapat kilalanin at protektahan ang mga lehitimong prangkisadong driver at operator na dumaan sa tamang proseso, gumastos para maging legal ang kanilang operasyon, at patuloy na sumusunod sa mga regulasyon ng pamahalaan. Sila ang mga driver na nagsisikap maghanapbuhay nang marangal at naaayon sa batas.

Hindi rin po makatarungan sa mga legal na driver at operator kung hahayaan na lamang ang mga colorum na bumiyahe nang walang permit at hindi sumusunod sa tamang proseso. Direktang naaapektuhan nito ang kita at kabuhayan ng mga lehitimong pumapasada araw-araw.

Patuloy pong hinihikayat ng Traffic Enforcement Unit ang lahat ng operator at driver na ayusin at gawing legal ang kanilang operasyon upang maiwasan ang penalties at iba pang paglabag sa batas.

Ang TEU ay mananatiling patas, makatao, at committed sa pagpapatupad ng batas para sa kapakanan ng publiko at ng mga lehitimong naghahanapbuhay.
