GENERAL SANTOS CITY โ€“ In partnership with Gensan Hoteliers Association Incorporated (GHAI), DOLE OSH conducted the Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training for Safety Officer 1 (BOSH-SO1) on October 5, 2026, at Icon Venue and Suites, as part of its efforts to promote workplace safety and strengthen the capacity of its member establishments.

The training emphasized the importance of occupational safety and health in the hospitality industry, recognizing that providing quality service also means ensuring safe and healthy workplaces for employees, guests, and other stakeholders.

The activity was spearheaded by the GHAI officers, led by President Mr. Edison Impang Jr. and Secretary General Mr. Louie Jay Cabrera, with the participation and support of the associationโ€™s officers and member establishments.

Also supporting the initiative was the General Santos City Tourism Division, headed by Mr. Eliodoro Y. Alcaya, Jr., which continues to work with tourism stakeholders in strengthening industry standards, capacity-building, and responsible tourism practices.

The BOSH-SO1 training provided participants with foundational knowledge on occupational safety and health, including the responsibilities of safety officers and the promotion of safer working environments.

Through initiatives such as this, GHAI reinforces its commitment to going beyond hospitality service by investing in the safety, well-being, and professional development of its people.
