8th FAB Honors Retiring Personnel in Recognition of Years of Dedicated Military Service

Gamu, Isabela- The 8th Field Artillery Battalion paid tribute to its retiring personnel during a retirement ceremony held in recognition of their years of dedicated and faithful military service. The event honored TSg Romel J. Lopez (Art) PA and TSg Arnold T. Provido (Art) PA, whose commitment, professionalism, and unwavering dedication significantly contributed to the accomplishment of the unit’s mission and the fulfillment of the Philippine Army’s mandate. The ceremony served as an opportunity for the battalion to express its gratitude for their invaluable contributions and sacrifices throughout their military careers.

During the ceremony, both retirees were presented with token of recognition as a testament to their exemplary service and steadfast commitment to duty. Personnel of 8th FAB honoring the retirees and celebrating their accomplishments, while wishing them success and fulfillment in the next chapter of their lives. The event underscored the battalion’s appreciation for the lasting legacy of service left by TSg Lopez and TSg Provido, whose dedication will continue to inspire future generations of artillerymen.

8th FAB Participates in Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Ceremony 2026 in Support of DepEd Initiatives

The 8th Field Artillery Battalion actively participated in the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Ceremony held at Guibang Elementary School and Calaocan Elementary School, joining fellow stakeholders, parents, teachers, and community volunteers in preparation for the opening of the new school year. The activity aimed to promote a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students through the collective efforts of various sectors under the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela program.

Demonstrating its commitment to community development and support for education initiatives, 8th FAB personnel took part in the school preparation activities alongside local stakeholders and education partners. The battalion’s participation highlighted the spirit of bayanihan and strengthened civil-military relations by fostering cooperation among the military, educators, parents, and the community in ensuring that schools are ready to welcome learners for School Year 2026–2027.

Commander Joint Task Force Tala Visits 8th FAB: Leads Blessing of Newly Installed Facilities and Fabricated Equipment

Gamu, Isabela - The Commander of Joint Task Force Tala MGEN GULLIVER L SEÑIRES PHILIPPINE ARMY, conducted an official visit to the 8th Field Artillery Battalion, reaffirming the unit’s commitment to operational readiness, sustainment capability, and continuous development in support of mission accomplishment. The visit was highlighted by the blessing ceremony of newly constructed unit facilities, repaired military trucks, a newly fabricated Fire Direction Center (FDC), Vehicle and Mobile Ammunition and Storage assets, all designed to strengthen the battalion’s operational efficiency and battlefield support capability.

During the activity, the Commander of Joint Task Force Tala commended the initiative, resourcefulness, and dedication of the officers and personnel of 8th FAB in improving the unit’s operational assets through innovation and teamwork. He emphasized that every soldier and military unit must embody the core values of “Malasakit, Disiplina at Galing” as essential foundations in achieving mission success and maintaining a highly capable and responsive force. The commander likewise underscored the importance of sustaining combat readiness and maximizing available resources to effectively support ongoing security and stability operations.

The blessing ceremony symbolized not only the continued modernization and improvement of the battalion’s facilities and equipment but also the unit’s unwavering commitment to excellence, mission accomplishment, and service to the Filipino people. The activity concluded with a command engagement and interaction with troops, where the JTF Tala Commander expressed appreciation for the professionalism, dedication, and hard work demonstrated by the personnel of 8th FAB in carrying out their mandate.

Gamu, Isabela – The Gender and Development (GAD) Section of the Artillery Regiment, led by CPT IVEY P SANNADAN (ART) PA, GAD Officer of the Artillery Regiment, conducted a Gender Audit at the 8th Field Artillery Battalion to assess the implementation of gender-responsive programs, policies, and workplace practices within the unit. The activity aimed to strengthen awareness on gender sensitivity, professionalism, equal opportunity, and the promotion of an inclusive working environment among personnel.

The audit also highlighted the commitment of both the Artillery Regiment and the Philippine Army in upholding Gender and Development initiatives that foster respect, teamwork, and organizational excellence.
