LOOK: ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF FOR LOGISTICS, G4, 5ID, PA VISITS 5TH SIGNAL BATTALION

LTC DARWIN A MANALO GSC (QMS) PA, Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics (G4), 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, visited the Headquarters, 5th Signal Battalion, Army Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, at Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz on 08 June 2026.

During the visit, LTC Manalo served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Ceremonial Groundbreaking for the Enhancement of the 5th Signal Battalion Multipurpose Hall and Officers’ Barracks. The Multipurpose Hall is intended to serve as a venue for command activities, conferences, training sessions, seminars, troop assemblies, and other official functions that supported PAMUS, and battalion’s operational and administrative requirements.

The activity highlights the Philippine Army’s continuing commitment to infrastructure development and the welfare of its personnel, ensuring that facilities remain responsive to operational requirements and organizational growth.

The Commanding Officer, LTC ALWIN M MANEJA SC (GSC) PA, together with officers and enlisted personnel of the unit, welcomed the visiting official and expressed their appreciation for the support extended to the battalion’s development initiatives.

MGEN GULLIVER L SEΓ‘IRES PA, Commander of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, and JTF Tala, visited the Headquarters, 5th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, at Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, on 27 May 2026.

During the visit, the Battalion presented a Unit Information Briefing highlighting operational updates, updates on compliance to Command Guidance, and ongoing initiatives in support of mission accomplishment of 5ID/JTF Tala. The Commander was likewise provided updates on the unit’s operational readiness and key accomplishments.

During his Talk to Troops, Commander shared his guidance and words of encouragement, emphasizing "Malasakit, Disiplina, at Galing" in all aspect in the service to the nation.

The visit of Commander, 5ID/JTF Tala strengthened command engagement, unity of effort, and the Battalion’s commitment to deliver reliable communications support in pursuit of mission success and service to the people of the North.

Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr. led the celebration of the 45th Founding Anniversary of the 5th Infantry (Star) Division, Philippine Army, at Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz, reaffirming the Department of National Defense’s commitment to military modernization, operational readiness, and troop welfare.
Secretary Teodoro commended the Division for its accomplishments in internal security operations and its growing participation in multilateral and bilateral military exercises.
The event was attended by military leaders, government officials, and representatives from partner agencies.

Gamu, Isabela β€” The Audio Visual Platoon (AV Platoon) of the 5th Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army once again demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication by successfully providing full audio-visual support during the celebration of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army’s 45th Founding Anniversary with the theme, β€œ5ID @45: Modernizing Forces, Strengthening External Security,” held at Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela.

Despite the demands of multiple high-level activities with the presence of their distinguished guests led by Hon Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., Secretary of National Defense, the AV Platoon efficiently managed and ensured the seamless ex*****on of all technical requirements throughout the celebration.

The AV Platoon first provided comprehensives support during the Anniversary Proper Program attended by AFP and Philippine Army senior officials, former 5ID commanders, local government officials, partner agencies, and awardees from their different stakeholders. Later that evening, the AV Platoon supported the 5ID Voice of Valor Live Show held at IP Village, 5ID, PA, ensuring quality audio, visual presentations, stage set up, lighting, and live event coverage throughout the program.

The following day, the AV Platoon continued its mission to support during the North Star Golf Open at Startrooper Golf Course 5ID and the Senior Leader’s Dinner Ball, where the AV Platoon once again, delivered efficient technical operations with standard of professional event management.

Behind every successful program was a hardworking AV Platoon operating tirelessly, to deliver quality technical support and maintain smooth event transitions. Their commitment, teamwork to the 5ID offices and units involve to the different events, and technical excellence truly reflected the competence and reliability of the 5th Signal Battalion in supporting major military events and activities.
