Upon the recommendation of the PDRRMC, Governor Harris Ongchuan has ordered the SUSPENSION OF WORK in GOVERNMENT OFFICES and CLASSES in PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS today, February 9, 2026, due to inclement weather brought about by the shear line affecting the province.

However, offices providing essential services will continue to operate, while work suspension in private offices is left at the discretion of employers, taking into consideration the safety and welfare of their employees.

STRENGTHENING TIES FOR A SAFER GAMAY

​Earlier today, the Office of the Municipal Mayor was honored by a courtesy call from PCOL ORLANDO S. GARDIOLA, JR, Provincial Director of the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO).

​Mayor Dr. Timoteo T. Capoquian, Jr. welcomed PCOL GARDIOLA, JR to discuss ongoing peace and order initiatives and the continued collaboration between the Local Government Unit (LGU) and the Philippine National Police.

​This visit reaffirms the strong partnership between our local leadership and law enforcement in ensuring that Gamay remains a peaceful and thriving municipality for all Gamaynons.

𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 | 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝘀𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

GAMAY, Hilagang Samar — Umani ng Gold Award ang Gamay sa 2025 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Champions ng Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) VIII at Office of Civil Defense (OCD) VIII.

Kabilang ang Gamay sa 106 Eastern Visayas LDRRMCOs na tumanggap ng pagkilala sa kanilang natatanging pagganap sa DRRM at patuloy na pagpapatibay ng kahandaan at katatagan ng komunidad laban sa sakuna.

Ayon sa RDRRMC VIII, ibinibigay ang parangal sa mga konseho at opisina na may pinakamataas na performance rating sa rehiyon. Binibigyang-diin nito ang masigasig na pagpapatupad ng lokal na pamahalaan sa mga programang pangkahandaan, maagap na pagtugon sa sakuna, at mabisang rehabilitasyon.

Ang parangal ng Gamay ay tagumpay ng bayan at patunay ng sama-samang pagkilos ng pamahalaan at mamamayan para sa isang ligtas at handang komunidad.
