🌿🦉 A Victory for Wildlife Conservation in Gamay! 🦉🌿

On May 26, 2026, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of LGU Gamay, in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), successfully released a Philippine Tarsier into its natural habitat at the Butay Wetland after it was safely turned over to authorities.

The sighting and release of this endangered species is a remarkable indication that the municipality of Gamay continues to provide a suitable environment for wildlife and biodiversity. It serves as evidence that tarsiers still thrive in our locality and highlights the importance of protecting our forests, wetlands, and natural ecosystems.

Let this be a reminder that every citizen has a role in conserving and safeguarding our wildlife. Together, let us protect nature and preserve the rich biodiversity of Gamay for future generations.

LOOK: The Municipal Government of Gamay, Northern Samar proudly welcomed the production shoot of the Department of Tourism - Eastern Visayas Office for the updated Eastern Visayas Infinite Escapes Audio-Visual Presentation (AVP), Photo, and Data Banking of Eastern Visayas held last May 19 and 25, 2026.

This initiative highlighted the beauty, culture, destinations, and local products of the region as part of strengthening tourism promotion and investment opportunities in Eastern Visayas.

On May 26, 2026, the Regional Assessment Team conducted the pre-assessment for the Regional Champions of Good Local Governance in Gamay, Northern Samar.

The activity aimed to evaluate the compliance, performance, and best practices of the local government in promoting transparency, accountability, effective public service, and participatory governance.

Gamaynons joyfully participated in the 27th Pentecost Vigil and Family Day Celebration held in San Antonio, Northern Samar on May 23, 2026. The gathering became a meaningful celebration of faith, unity, and renewal, inspired by the message of the Holy Spirit. Special thanks to former pastor Noe Dora for serving as the guest speaker and for sharing an inspiring message that strengthened the faith of all participants.

May 20, 2026 | Fiesta Celebration of Barangay G.M. Osias, Gamay, Northern Samar

The faithful community of Barangay G.M. Osias in the municipality of Gamay joyfully celebrated its annual fiesta on May 20, 2026 in honor of their beloved patron saint. The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Meramar P. Irinco, Parochial Vicar, who shared an inspiring message of faith, unity, thanksgiving, and service to God and the community.

The celebration gathered devotees, families, friends, and visitors in a spirit of prayer and thanksgiving as they expressed gratitude for the blessings received throughout the year. The fiesta also highlighted the rich culture, strong faith, and vibrant traditions of the people of Barangay G.M. Osias.

May 20, 2026 | Consecration and Blessing of Church Bell

As part of the joyful fiesta celebration of Barangay G.M. Osias, Gamay, Northern Samar, the Consecration and Blessing of the Church Bell was solemnly officiated by Rev. Fr. Meramar P. Irinco, Parochial Vicar.

The newly blessed church bell was consecrated in honor of Saint Isidore the Worker and Saint Josemaría Escrivá, invoking their guidance and intercession for the faithful community. The sacred rite symbolized the call of the Church to prayer, unity, and devotion, reminding everyone that the sound of the bell serves as a voice of faith that gathers God’s people together.

The ceremony became one of the highlights of the fiesta celebration as parishioners, devotees, and visitors witnessed this meaningful spiritual milestone for the chapel and the community of Barangay G.M. Osias. Through the intercession of Saint Isidore the Worker and Saint Josemaría Escrivá, may the blessed bell continue to inspire the people to live a life of holiness, hard work, and faithful service to God.
