On March 1, 2023, the Department of Agriculture launched the Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay sa Barangay Project Kadiwa ay Yaman Plants for Bountiful Barangays Movement, or HAPAG KAY PBBM in Rizal Park, Manila.

Today, August 21, Barangay Oaig Daya started its own program in line with PBBM's thrust for food security in the barangays--the "Bountiful Barangay Movement" which aims barangay constituents and leaders, youth and adults alike, to plant and produce nutritional vegetables and fruits in vacant lots in their communities.

The HAPAG Garden of the barangay was highlighted by Brgy. Sec. Arjay Naungayan in his introductory message. He also encouraged the participants to listen carefully as the topic is very relevant, useful and timely.

Ms. Stephanie P. Labcaen of Sacred Heart Savings Cooperative (SHSC) was personally invited by Sec. Naungayan to serve as the resource speaker during the said seminar.

The attendees were given a handout which includes basic gardening steps and tips.

The said seminar was made possible with the approval of Brgy. Captain Carole Galima and the Barangay Council, and the unparalleled efforts of BHW's Nancy Gapate and Julia Tara, and BNS Luzviminda Galima.

A follow-up practical seminar will be scheduled to improve the barangay's HAPAG and 4P's community garden. # # #
