On June 17, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Nueva Ecija through Negosyo Center Gabaldon, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Municipal Action Team (MAT) Gabaldon, successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship Seminar for Parent Leaders in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, with the theme “R.I.S.E. (Resilient and Independent Self-help Groups through Empowered Parent Leaders)”, with BC Angel Bejosano serving as one of the resource speakers.

The seminar provided participants with a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship and its role in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Discussions focused on developing an entrepreneurial mindset, recognizing business opportunities, and exploring ways to generate additional income that can contribute to the well-being of their families and communities.

Through this activity, Parent Leaders were encouraged to become agents of positive change by applying the knowledge gained from the seminar and sharing these learnings within their respective communities.

DTI Nueva Ecija Concludes 2-Day Diskwento Caravan in Gabaldon

On June 11–12, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Nueva Ecija, led by Provincial Director Engr. Gerardo P. Maglalang, successfully conducted the 2-Day Diskwento Caravan in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Gabaldon, NELMA, and NECAAA, with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) simultaneously conducting its Piso Caravan as part of the event.

The activity brought affordable products and basic commodities closer to consumers, providing greater access to quality goods at discounted prices while supporting participating entrepreneurs and local businesses. Community members also benefited from the various services made available throughout the two-day event.

As part of the caravan, participants attended informative seminars on “Greening the MSMEs: Energy Conservation, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Practices for Business and Households” and the “MSME Financing Program,” providing valuable insights on sustainable business practices and available financing opportunities that can help entrepreneurs start, sustain, and grow their enterprises.

This initiative highlights DTI’s continuing commitment to promoting consumer welfare, empowering MSMEs, and fostering inclusive economic growth through strategic partnerships and community-based programs.

Building Livelihood Opportunities Through Partnership and Skills Development

On June 5, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Gabaldon, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in partnership with DTI Negosyo Center Gabaldon and Government Internship Program (GIP) interns from DOLE Nueva Ecija, successfully concluded the 5-Day Capiz Shell Handicrafts Training Workshop.

The training equipped participants with valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in creating Capiz shell products, enhancing their skills and craftsmanship while opening opportunities for livelihood, entrepreneurship, and sustainable income generation within the community.

This collaborative effort reflects the shared commitment of the LGU, DTI, and DOLE to empower individuals, develop local talent, and promote inclusive economic growth through skills development and livelihood enhancement programs.
