POLICE BUSTS P13.6M SHABU IN MAIL PARCEL
Anti-illegal drugs operatives busted another large shipment of illegal drugs smuggled into the country through parcel service.
PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas said JAYSON QUIJOY, 37 years old, of No. 40 Pangasinan St., Bago Bantay, Quezon City was arrested by PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) agents on Friday along Pantaleon St., Brgy. Guyong, Sta. Maria, Bulacan in a controlled delivery operation of a shipment of illegal drugs.
“The PNP is coping with the growing sophistication of organized crime particularly syndicates that use every means possible to peddle drugs. We are ready for them,” the Chief PNP stressed.
Citing reports from PDEG Director, Police Brigadier General Ronald Lee, Quijoy was the consignee of a parcel shipped by Glus SDN BHD of 18G Jalan SG 3/2 Taman SRI Gombak 68100 Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia earlier flagged by the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group.
The parcel, declared as “steamboat with grill” contained 2,003 grams of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or Shabu with a street value worth P13.6M concealed in two (2) steamboats/hot pot, Lee said.
The parcel was received by Quijoy in his given address at 123 Pantaleon 11 St., Bypass Guyong, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
He was promptly arrested after receiving the contraband from the courier service.
