HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR PLASTIC TO DECOMPOSE?
-"Plastics can take anywhere from 20 to 500 years to decompose, depending on the material and structure. Single-use plastic grocery bags take about two decades to break down. In contrast, plastic water bottles made with polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a common type of plastic, are estimated to take approximately 450 years to fully break down.

The long wait is over! Solution found! Today, 12th of July, Tuesday. City ENRO, Engr. Jonathan Juliane Bayona shows how the SHREDDED PLASTIC WASTE COLLIDE with CEMENT, SAND & GRAVEL for the ongoing fabrication of FOOTWALK. 21 barangays and thousand of locals here in Escalante City will benefit the resourceful project. A big thanks to our City Mayor Melecio "Beboy" Yap Jr., who supported the said project together with SP Manuel L. Zamora Sr. To the team who helped CENRO Escalante to make this happen, we appreciate your efforts guys! It's for the MOTHER EARTH.

What's the connection of PLASTIC WASTE and CLIMATE CHANGE?
" - As it does, sunlight and heat cause the plastic to release powerful greenhouse gases, leading to an alarming feedback loop. As our climate changes, the planet gets hotter, the plastic breaks down into more methane and ethylane, increasing the rate of climate change."

Cenro Escalante Warriors (staff) made a start at the Public Market headed by the City ENRO, Eng'r. Jonathan Juliane Bayona on the proposed amendments of Ord. 19-310 (Plastic Ord. in the City). In celebration of our 10th Localized Environmental Week, an IEC activity happened last 27th of June 2022, Monday. With the assured assistance from our City Legal Office, amendments will be finalized the soonest! The result of this mission, will help our Environment, and to save our beautiful planet...

"Not only are plastics polluting our oceans and waterways and killing marine life - it's in all of us and we can't escape consuming plastics."
- Marco Lambertini

You can take the challenge and help our beautiful planet by reducing your PLASTICS consumption from the comfort of your home.

First harvest of compost from our rotary bio composter from DA BSWM after its 3-day 24-hr operations. We need to test the equipment for a continuous basis since it's still under its warranty period😅Although the compost generated seemed inferior in appearance to our vermicast produce, it will be tested to fertilize our seedlings propagated at the cenro nursery.

It pays to be hardworking & responsible😅 CENRO Escalante would like to thank the generous, kind hearted buyer of the molave seedlings from these children who lived in our greening site, Brgy. Langub. They were featured gathering & nurturing seedlings of tugas or molave (vitex parviflora) with high hopes they can sell it for them to buy their school needs. Thanks to the response of netizens to name them: Doc Mae Ann & Maam Nacional of NONESCOST & Atty. Au who also convinced good hearted friends to purchase from the kids. In behalf of these kids, we convey their gratitude😍 Thank you buyers, you bring joy to these kids as your advance christmas gifts to them💖 We at CENRO are also grateful that our native species tugas will be grown abundantly for ecosystem restoration!

Salt is a natural component of soil and water that supports rich ecosystems. But with improper management practices increase the salt content of the soil known as salinization.

With the theme, "Halt soil salinization, boost soil productivity", World Soil Day 2021 aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing the growing challenges in soil management, fighting soil salinization, increasing soil awareness, and encouraging societies to improve soil health.
