Three SK Officials participated in the 3-Day Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CBDRRM) Training Course conducted by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Office II in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon (OPANL) on June 9–11, 2026 at Pulsar Premier Suites, Buntun, Tuguegarao City.

This intensive three-day training course gathered the first batch of participants from the Provincial Government of Quirino, the Local Government Unit of Enrile, and the Local Government Unit of Gattaran, Cagayan. The program provided participants with a total of 24 technical training hours, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to effectively implement disaster risk reduction and management initiatives at the community level.

The training focused on strengthening local capacities in disaster preparedness, prevention and mitigation, emergency response, rehabilitation and recovery, climate resilience, risk assessment, and community-based disaster management planning. Through lectures, workshops, and practical exercises, participants gained valuable insights into building safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready communities.

As part of the training, participants were recognized as members of Project AGRIDAM (Agents for Risk and Damage Management), a network of trained individuals committed to promoting disaster awareness, preparedness, and resilience within their respective communities.

The knowledge and skills acquired from this training will serve as a valuable resource in enhancing local disaster preparedness efforts and empowering youth leaders to actively contribute to community safety and resilience.
