The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) conducted a Public Hearing on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2025–2036 on February 11, 2026, at the Little Theater. The activity gathered city officials, barangay representatives, stakeholders, and community members to present, discuss, and solicit feedback on the proposed development framework that will guide land use, growth, and sustainability efforts of El Salvador City over the next decade.

The City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), in coordination with the Local Government of El Salvador City and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region X, conducted this activity on December 10, 2024, at Hotel Monicon, El Salvador City.

The event featured the official unveiling and turnover of the “Resilient Tagnipa” Conceptual Urban Plan, a key component of the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP). City Mayor Edgar Lignes presented the vision for the Tagnipa Green District, a five-hectare public property envisioned as a culture-driven, mixed-use development that promotes sustainable, climate-resilient, and inclusive urban growth.

The activity served as a platform to align strategic communication approaches that will support public awareness, stakeholder engagement, and policy adoption related to the CLUP and its priority development areas. It underscored the City Government’s commitment to effective land use planning, transparency, and collaborative governance in advancing long-term urban development goals.

📲 El Salvador City has adopted the ‘Resilient Tagnipa’ Conceptual Urban Plan as its blueprint for developing a climate-resilient, people-centered urban district, following its formal turnover from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD)-10 on December 10.

Mayor Edgar Lignes accepted the plan, describing it as a key step toward building a modern, mixed-use district anchored on habitability, safety, and inclusive growth, designed to meet residents’ daily needs.
