In celebration of the Philippine National Women’s Month, the Local Government Unit of El Salvador City, led by the multi-awarded City Local Chief Executive, Mayor Edgar "Esalig" Lignes, through the 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 headed by 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒓. 𝑮𝒊𝒍 𝑨. 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒎𝒂, 𝑹𝑬𝑨, Officer-in-Charge, successfully concluded this year’s celebration with a 2-day Wellness Program.

Our women employees were treated to well-deserved pampering sessions, enjoying services such as manicure, pedicure, haircut, eyelash extensions, and foot spa. This initiative provided them with a meaningful opportunity to relax, recharge, and take a quick break from their daily work.

Indeed, our empowered Filipina public servants embraced this special time to care for themselves—because strong women deserve moments of rest, renewal, and appreciation. 💜

This wellness initiative is dedicated to all women employees of the LGU, organized through the City Human Resource Management Office, in recognition of their hard work and invaluable contributions.

On March 17, 2026, the Local Government Unit of El Salvador City, under the leadership of 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐒. 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬, celebrated the 2026 Philippine National Women’s Month through a learning session titled “𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚.”

The topic was aligned with this year’s sub-theme, “𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒚𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒔, 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔!” which honors the courage and strength demonstrated by Babaylan women throughout Philippine history.

The event was spearheaded by the City Human Resource Management Office, led by its Officer-in-Charge, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐘. 𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐲-𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨,𝐑𝐏𝐦. It was attended by all female employees of the LGU workforce and was graced by City Councilor 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐞 𝐁. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐨, Chairwoman of the Committee on Women and Family Relations.

Through this learning session, the LGU was able to amplify the invaluable contributions of women in society, recognizing how their leadership, dedication, and resilience play vital roles in community development and nation-building.

The guest speaker for the forum was 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐅. 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐚, who exemplifies the many roles women fulfill—as a lawyer, educator, and active member of social service groups supporting underserved communities.

The session concluded with a special message from the newly appointed Gender and Development Focal Person of LGU El Salvador City, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐧 𝐃. 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐚,𝐉𝐃, who emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment among the participants.

Overall, the event successfully achieved its goal of highlighting and celebrating the vital roles that women contribute to society.
