Search and Retrieval Operation – El Salvador, Misamis Oriental

On 21 September 2025, Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador responded to a report from CGSS Opol about an unidentified cadaver floating within the municipal waters of El Salvador.

Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador personnel onboard Fiber Boat Motor Banca proceeded to the reported area and arrived at the coordinates 8° 35.169' N, 124° 34.443' E together with HSRB-038 and Aluminum Boat 245, where the retrieval operation was successfully carried out.

The unidentified cadaver was turned over to PNP El Salvador at Brgy. Molugan, Misamis Oriental, and later claimed by Agreda Funeral Homes of Alubijid for proper disposition.

This successful operation was made possible through the joint efforts of Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador, Coast Guard Sub-Station Opol, PNP El Salvador, and CDRRMO El Salvador.

International Coastal Cleanup 2025 – Barangay Taytay, El Salvador City

The Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador, together with the Coast Guard Station Southwestern Misamis Oriental, in partnership with the Barangay Council of Taytay and dedicated community volunteers, successfully conducted a coastal cleanup activity on 20 September 2025 in observance of the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day.

This initiative not only improved the cleanliness and health of the mangrove ecosystem but also raised environmental awareness among residents. Moreover, it highlighted the importance of community cooperation and further strengthened the partnership between the Philippine Coast Guard and local stakeholders in protecting our marine environment.

Together, we continue to build a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for our seas, rivers, and communities.

The Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador, together with Coast Guard Station SouthWestern Misamis Oriental, conducted a Bay Watch activity and installed a tarpaulin with safety reminders for beachgoers at Oloy Roa Beach, Barangay Molugan, El Salvador City.

This initiative aims to raise public awareness on maritime safety and remind beach visitors of important guidelines to prevent accidents, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience at the beach. At the same time, it reflects our simple yet sincere way of showing care for the community.

On or about 29 August 2025 at 0900H, the Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador, in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of El Salvador City, successfully conducted an Information Drive on the Safety, Security, and Environmental Numbering (SSEN) System, along with Mga Paalala sa mga Mangingisda sa Panahon ng Tag-ulan at Bagyo, at Barangay Amoros, El Salvador City.

The activity actively engaged fisherfolk and local associations, highlighting the importance of maritime safety, security awareness, and environmental responsibility in strengthening the resilience of the coastal community.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Barangay Captain Hon. Eva Manabat and Kagawad Ric Jaraula for their steadfast support and active participation, which greatly contributed to the success of this initiative.

At around 7:00 AM on 22 August 2025, the Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador, in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of El Salvador City, spearheaded a Coastal Clean-up Activity at Barangay Bolobolo, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental as part of the Coastal Protection and Monitoring Program.

The activity was made more meaningful through the active support and participation of the Coast Guard Station Southwestern Misamis Oriental, Barangay Captain Hon. Emmanuel Jay Tapay of Barangay Bolobolo-PSB, Kagawad Rolito Gabuli, and the Responsive and Modernized Fisherfolk Association (RAMFA) of Barangay Bolobolo-PSB.

This united effort highlighted the community’s shared commitment to keeping the shoreline clean, protecting marine life, and nurturing a culture of environmental responsibility for the benefit of future generations.

Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) El Salvador personnel assisted the Philippine Coast Guard Committee on Anti-Red Tape (PCG-CART), led by ENS Arlyn G. Lopez PCG, together with personnel from Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM), in the conduct of the ARTA inspection of this unit.

This inspection is part of the government’s Anti-Red Tape initiative, which aims to ensure that public service remains efficient, transparent, and free from unnecessary delays or bureaucratic practices. For the Coast Guard, compliance with ARTA reinforces its commitment to deliver fast and reliable services to seafarers, fisherfolk, and the community, while promoting accountability and transparency in daily operations, and upholding integrity and professionalism by ensuring that every transaction strictly follows standard procedures.

Through ARTA inspections, the Coast Guard continuously improves its services, aligning with the government’s thrust to provide a people-centered and corruption-free public service.

The Coast Guard Sub-Station El Salvador, in collaboration with the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) of El Salvador City, spearheaded a Coastal Cleanup Activity at Barangay Amoros as part of the Coastal Protection and Monitoring Program.

This joint effort, together with the Coast Guard Station Southwestern Misamis Oriental, ACCERT, BFAR, Kagawad Ric Jaraula, and the Amoros Fisherfolk Association, was conducted to combat marine debris, restore the natural beauty of the shoreline, and strengthen environmental responsibility within the community.

In addition, the team also participated in a Mangrove Planting Activity spearheaded by COMELEC Region 10 at the same location, further highlighting the commitment to protecting and sustaining marine and coastal ecosystems.
