DSWD FEATURE STORY: Former 4Ps monitored child, now award-winning educator in America

Thousands of miles away from the humble streets of Estancia, Iloilo, the former monitored child of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is now making waves as a multi-award-winning Special Education (SpEd) teacher in Arizona, United States. His remarkable journey from a financially-strapped household to an internationally acclaimed educator is a masterclass in resilience.

This is Jake’s message: “Sa aking mga kapwa 4Ps beneficiaries at iskolar, huwag po kayong mawalan ng pag-asa. Ang kahirapan ay hindi hadlang para maabot ang ating mga pangarap. Patuloy lang po sa pag-aaral, pagtitiyaga, at pananampalataya dahil darating din ang tamang panahon para sa inyong tagumpay. Nawa’y magsilbi rin itong paalala na patuloy nating suportahan at bigyang halaga ang Special Education upang mas marami pang batang may espesyal na pangangailangan ang mabigyan ng magandang kinabukasan.” (KB)

A stronger partnership for more resilient communities. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA and the Provincial Government of Palawan have officially forged a partnership for the implementation of the KALAHI-CIDSS Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP), a program that aims to empower communities in addressing disaster risks, climate challenges, and local development needs through community-driven solutions.

Through this collaboration, selected municipalities in Palawan will receive substantial funding support for projects identified and prioritized by the communities themselves. The initiative reinforces the commitment of DSWD and the Provincial Government to building safer, stronger, and more resilient communities while promoting inclusive and sustainable development across the province.

📢 PAANYAYA SA MGA PAMILYANG 4Ps 📢

Bilang pakikiisa sa Brigada Eskwela 2026 ng Department of Education (DepEd), hinihikayat ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) ang lahat ng beneficiaries, kabataan, magulang, Parent Leaders, at mga miyembro ng komunidad na aktibong makilahok sa mga paghahanda para sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng klase.

Sa pamamagitan ng Brigada Eskwela, layunin nating maitaguyod ang bayanihan, volunteerism, at sama-samang pananagutan upang matiyak na handa, ligtas, malinis, at maayos ang ating mga paaralan para sa pagbabalik-eskuwela ng mga bata.

Ang gawaing ito ay pagkakataon para maipakita ng 4Ps na ang bawat pamilyang benepisyaryo at katuwang ng komunidad sa pagsusulong ng edukasyon at kinabukasan ng ating mga anak.

Mga ka-4Ps, ang bawat oras, lakas, at simpleng pagtulong ay mahalagang ambag para sa mas maayos na kapaligiran ng pagkatuto ng ating mga anak.

Tandaan, sa Brigada Eskwela, sama-samang kumikilos ang pamilyang 4Ps upang matiyak na handa, ligtas, at maayos ang paaralan para sa pagbabalik-eskuwela ng mga bata.
