The Cagayan Valley Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium successfully held its 1st RRDCC Meeting and Joint 1st and 2nd Quarter Executive Board Meeting on April 22, 2026 via Zoom, bringing together 41 heads and representatives from its Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs).

The meeting was led by RRDCC Chair Boyet L. Batang, president of Isabela State University, who emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration and strategic alignment among member institutions to effectively advance research and development initiatives in the region.

Serving as a key platform for coordination, the meeting focused on aligning institutional priorities, sharing updates on ongoing programs and projects, and reinforcing partnerships across the consortium. Cluster coordinators presented their respective accomplishment reports, highlighting achievements, innovations, and continuing efforts in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sectors.

Discussions also underscored the need to harmonize initiatives with regional and national development goals to ensure that research outputs contribute to inclusive growth and sustainable development. Strengthening inter-agency collaboration and optimizing resource utilization were among the key points raised during the session.

The activity concluded with a renewed commitment from all member institutions to enhance cooperation, improve research productivity, and support evidence-based solutions to address emerging challenges in the AANR sectors.

Through initiatives like this, CVAARRD continues to strengthen its role in fostering a dynamic and responsive research and development ecosystem in the Cagayan Valley region.
